Performance & Powertrain

The Peugeot e-208 GTi comes equipped with a front-mounted motor borrowed from the Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce, producing 276 horsepower and 255 lb-ft of torque. This power boost enables a 0-62 mph sprint in just 5.7 seconds, making it an exciting option in the world of electric hot hatches.

A limited-slip differential provides better handling in turns. Wider tracks—2.2 inches at the front and 1.0 inch at the rear—boost stability. A ride height lowered by 1.1 inches helps the car cut through air more easily and respond quicker.

Chassis & Driving Dynamics

Peugeot has fine-tuned the suspension, integrating hydraulic bump stops for better ride control during spirited driving. The steering system has also been recalibrated to offer a more direct and engaging feel behind the wheel. One of the most notable upgrades is the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, which significantly improve grip and performance, perfect for aggressive driving enthusiasts.

The e-208 GTi features a wider, lower stance that gives it a more aggressive look. Its sporty front lip improves aerodynamics. A large rear diffuser and spoiler add downforce, enhancing stability. Exclusive GTi accents give the car a bold, modern style.

Why It Won’t Come to the U.S.

Despite its impressive specifications, Peugeot no longer operates in the American market, meaning the e-208 GTi is unlikely to reach U.S. shores. Additionally, the 54-kWh battery might not align with American consumers’ expectations for longer range options. Nevertheless, Peugeot’s approach to reviving the hot hatch segment in an electrified format sets a compelling precedent for future performance EVs.
