Project Safari: Get Lost Transforms the Lotus Elise S1 into an Off-Road Beast

The Lotus Elise S1, celebrated for its lightweight design and agile performance, has received a thrilling transformation courtesy of motorsports photographer-turned-car builder GF Williams. Under his company Get Lost, the Elise has been reimagined as a rally-inspired beast designed for intense off-road racing.

A Radical Off-Road Makeover

Unlike standard modifications that merely adjust a car’s stance, Project Safari is a complete reinterpretation of the Elise platform. It boasts a 100mm lift, reinforced underbody protection, and rugged all-terrain tires housed in large fenders. The Cerakote-coated bespoke suspension ensures resilience against harsh terrain while rectangular headlights replace the classic round ones for a more aggressive appearance.

Performance Enhancements

Project Safari features a rally-style limited-slip differential for optimized grip and a hydraulic handbrake for precise handling. The mid-mounted roof scoop directs air into the powertrain, suggesting a more robust engine has replaced the original 1.8-liter Rover K-Series. The zircon-coated twin exhaust further hints at enhanced performance capabilities.
