2026 Subaru Solterra EV: Refreshed EV Now Offers 285+ Miles of Driving Range
Subaru has taken a major leap forward in the electric vehicle (EV) segment with the 2026 Subaru Solterra EV, introducing significant upgrades in performance, range, and technology. This latest version of Subaru’s fully electric SUV is set to address key weaknesses of its predecessors and bring competitive advancements to the EV market.
A Power Boost That Turns Heads
One of the most striking improvements in the 2026 Solterra is its increased horsepower. The newly introduced XT model boasts an impressive 338 horsepower, a substantial increase from the 225 horsepower in the previous version. With this boost, Subaru claims that the XT model can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under five seconds, making it significantly quicker than previous iterations.

Even the standard dual-motor model has been upgraded, now delivering 233 horsepower, improving its overall driving dynamics and responsiveness. Subaru maintains its all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, ensuring solid traction and capability on various terrains.

2026 Subaru Solterra EV Extended Range for Long-Distance Comfort
Range anxiety has been a major concern in the EV industry, but Subaru has tackled this issue head-on. The 2026 Solterra features a larger 75-kWh battery, offering a maximum range of over 285 miles on a single charge—a substantial jump from the 222 to 227 miles of the previous model.

This extended range makes the Solterra a more viable option for long-distance drivers. Additionally, the new NACS charging port allows users to charge their Solterra at Tesla Supercharger stations, offering faster charging speeds with a max 150 kW intake compared to the earlier 99 kW max recharge rate.

Modernized Design and Upgraded Features
While the most notable changes are under the hood, Subaru has also introduced some subtle yet appealing design modifications. The front-end design is smoother, and the headlights now feature a six-element lighting signature, giving the Solterra a distinctive look.
The rugged plastic wheel arches can now be customized to match the body color, enhancing the SUV’s stylish appeal. Subaru has even added an illuminated logo, contributing to a more futuristic aesthetic.

Inside, Subaru has stepped up its game by integrating a larger infotainment touchscreen, now measuring 14.0 inches. Additionally, the center console now features dual wireless charging pads, catering to modern tech needs.
Despite being an EV, the Solterra maintains its off-road capability with 8.3 inches of ground clearance, hill-descent control, and advanced drive modes such as Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud, reinforcing its adventurous spirit.
