The Land Rover Discovery Sport, known for its balance of luxury and practicality, is getting a much-needed update for 2026. While the current model received an interior refresh a few years ago, it still traces its roots back to 2014. Now, Land Rover is introducing subtle design tweaks, new trims, and lifestyle-oriented accessory packages to enhance its appeal for American buyers.

Refreshed Exterior and New Trim Option
Dynamic S: Features a sleek gloss black grille, badging, and lower bumper accents, along with black wheel arches and 18-inch alloy wheels.
Landmark: The Landmark Trim emphasizes the Discovery Sport’s adventurous heritage. Featuring mountain range-inspired tread plates and puddle lamps, this variant pays homage to Land Rover’s legacy while offering enhancements such as: Sliding and reclining second-row seats, A panoramic glass roof, 360-degree cameras for better visibility, and Load-bearing roof rails for additional cargo flexibility.

Metropolitan: The flagship trim boasts elegant design elements, such as silver grille inserts, 20-inch alloy wheels, and Windsor leather upholstery. It also comes equipped with premium features like 14-way electrically adjustable front seats with heating & ventilation, A digital rearview mirror, and a 650 W Meridian Surround Sound System for immersive audio.
Inside, all trims feature an 11.4-inch curved glass touchscreen and standard paddle shifters. Seven-seat availability continues to offer versatility, making it an ideal choice for families.

2026 Land Rover Discovery Sport: Powertrain & Performance
The 2026 Land Rover Discovery Sport keeps its 2.0-litre Ingenium mild-hybrid engines. These engines come in both petrol and diesel options. The petrol version delivers 249 horsepower and 365 Nm of torque. The diesel model offers 204 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque.
Both engines are paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. India will not get the plug-in hybrid version, but global markets will. Outside India, there is a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with a 15kWh battery. This setup produces up to 309 horsepower.

While these updates are rolling out first in the UK, the Discovery Sport is expected to arrive in the U.S. soon. Pricing details haven’t been confirmed yet, but given the improvements, a slight increase from the current $48,900 base price is likely.
