2026 Ram 1500 Brings Back 395-HP Hemi V8 Engine Due to Popular Demand.
The 2026 Ram 1500 is making headlines again, and this time, it’s giving its loyal fans exactly what they asked for—a triumphant return of the Hemi V-8. After phasing out the popular engine, Ram faced serious backlash from truck enthusiasts who weren’t happy about losing the 395-hp 5.7-liter Hemi V-8. Listening to customer demand, Ram is bringing it back, alongside its existing Pentastar V-6 and Hurricane twin-turbo straight-six options.

The 5.7-liter V-8, paired with Ram’s eTorque hybrid system, delivers 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque, striking the perfect balance between power and efficiency. It now sits comfortably between the 305-hp Pentastar V-6 and the Hurricane twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six, which comes in two variants—420-hp and 550-hp for those seeking extreme performance.

Ram trucks have built a reputation for towing strength and durability, and the return of the Hemi reinforces this legacy. The 2026 Ram 1500 equipped with the Hemi offers: Up to 11,470 pounds of towing capacity and 1,750 pounds of payload capacity.

How Much Will It Cost?
Ram has priced the Hemi V-8 as a $1,200 option for most trims, including the Tradesman, Express, Warlock, Big Horn/Lone Star, and Laramie. However, for those opting for higher-end trims like the Limited and Longhorn, the V-8 comes at no extra cost. The off-road-ready Rebel will also get the V-8, but pricing hasn’t been confirmed yet.
To celebrate its return, Ram introduced the “Symbol of Protest Badge,” placed on the truck’s front fenders. The badge design features a ram’s head positioned over an eight-cylinder engine block, making it clear that this truck carries raw, unapologetic power.
