Hybrid Power for Every RAV4
For 2026, Toyota has phased out traditional gas-only variants, making the hybrid powertrain the standard across all models. The conventional hybrid features a 2.5-liter inline-four engine paired with an upgraded electric system, producing 226 horsepower with front-wheel drive and 236 horsepower with all-wheel drive.

The plug-in hybrid model, formerly known as the RAV4 Prime, gets a major boost in power, now delivering 320 horsepower, a substantial increase from the previous 302 hp. Plus, its electric driving range jumps from 42 miles to an impressive 50 miles, making it a great option for eco-conscious drivers.

Enhanced Charging and Capability
One of the standout upgrades for the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version is DC fast-charging capability on select trims. The Woodland and XSE PHEV models will feature a CCS port, allowing users to charge the battery from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes. Additionally, towing capacity sees a boost, with most all-wheel-drive hybrid and PHEV models now rated at 3,500 pounds, while front-wheel-drive models retain their 1,750-pound capacity.

A Modernized Design
Toyota has introduced a streamlined exterior, modern yet unmistakably RAV4. Black plastic cladding and rugged side surfacing remain, while new “hammerhead” headlights and striking LED taillights add a fresh aesthetic appeal.
Inside, drivers will notice a more minimalist layout with fewer physical buttons and larger screens. Traditional climate-control knobs have been replaced by digital controls, a move toward a sleeker dashboard.
