2026 Ram Trucks Get Industry-Leading Warranty: 10-Year/100,000-Mile Warranty for 2026 Trucks.

In a move that has sent ripples across the automotive industry, Ram has rolled out a groundbreaking 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty for its 2026 model-year trucks and vans sold in the United States. This bold initiative—nearly doubling the previous 5-year/60,000-mile coverage—underscores the brand’s intent to rebuild customer trust and redefine value in a fiercely competitive market.

What’s Covered and Who Benefits

The expanded warranty applies to a comprehensive lineup: the 2026 Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, the Ram Chassis Cab series (3500/4500/5500), and Ram ProMaster vans. Even performance trims like the Ram 1500 RHO and Power Wagon are included. It’s worth noting that the coverage is exclusive to the original owner (individuals and businesses), regardless of whether they lease or buy—though fleet buyers are excluded. Core components like the engine, transmission, driveshafts, and axles fall under the plan.

Why Now? The Strategy Behind the Promise

According to Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis, the average vehicle age has jumped to 12.6 years—a 30% increase—while most truck buyers finance for five years and keep their vehicles even longer. Despite this shift in ownership patterns, automakers have been slow to extend warranties accordingly.

At first, Kuniskis planned to keep this project limited to the 1500 series as a test for the market. But a series of setbacks, like difficult 2025 launches, customer anger over dropping the V-8, and pricing problems, made him reconsider the whole brand. Now that he is back in charge, Kuniskis has promised 25 product news stories and is following through. This starts with a new warranty and the return of the popular 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 engine.

The Loyalty Factor

Truck loyalty in the U.S. is legendary—up to 80% of first-time buyers stick to their chosen brand for life. With this aggressive warranty push, Ram hopes to tap into that loyalty, while also luring buyers disillusioned by rising costs and reliability concerns elsewhere. With about 3.6 million Ram owners on the road and a fresh marketing push under the banner “Nothing Stops Ram,” this campaign might just restore the luster the brand has been chasing.

For American truck buyers, this warranty is more than a long-term safety net—it’s a challenge to competitors and a strong signal that Ram is serious about regaining its position in the market. As truck ownership habits evolve, warranties like this may become the new benchmark.
